CALCUL VECTORIEL
Soit \(A\), \(B\), \(C\) trois points quelconques,
\(\overrightarrow{AB} + \overrightarrow{BC} = \overrightarrow{AC}\)
\(\overrightarrow{AB} + \overrightarrow{CD} = \overrightarrow{AB} + \overrightarrow{BB'} = \overrightarrow{AB'}\)
On note :
\(\overrightarrow{BA} = -\overrightarrow{AB}\)
\(\overrightarrow{AB} + \left(-\overrightarrow{AB}\right) = \overrightarrow{AB} + \overrightarrow{BA} = \overrightarrow{AA} = \overrightarrow{0}\)
\(\overrightarrow{u} - \overrightarrow{v} = \overrightarrow{u} + \left(-\overrightarrow{v}\right)\)
VECTOR CALCULUS
Definition 1:
The vector \(\overrightarrow{AB}\) is defined by:
- its direction: the line \((AB)\).
- its sense: from \(A\) to \(B\).
- its length: the distance \(AB\).
Property 1:
\(\overrightarrow{AB} = \overrightarrow{CD}\) is equivalent to \(ABDC\) being a parallelogram (possibly flat).
Method: Construct a vector equal to a given vector
Let \(A\) be a given point and \(\overrightarrow{MN}\) a given vector.
To construct the point \(B\) such that \(\overrightarrow{AB} = \overrightarrow{MN}\), we draw the parallelogram \(MNBA\) (possibly flat).
\(A\), \(M\) and \(N\) are not collinear
\(A\), \(M\) and \(N\) are collinear
Definition 2:
Let \(A\), \(B\), \(C\) be any three points,
\(\overrightarrow{AB} + \overrightarrow{BC} = \overrightarrow{AC}\)
This equality is called Chasles' relation.
Method: Construction of the sum vector
\(\overrightarrow{AB}\) and \(\overrightarrow{CD}\) are two given vectors.
We construct \(B'\) such that \(\overrightarrow{CD} = \overrightarrow{BB'}\).
We apply Chasles' relation:
\(\overrightarrow{AB} + \overrightarrow{CD} = \overrightarrow{AB} + \overrightarrow{BB'} = \overrightarrow{AB'}\)
Definition 3:
The vector \(\overrightarrow{BA}\) is called the opposite of the vector \(\overrightarrow{AB}\). We write:
\(\overrightarrow{BA} = -\overrightarrow{AB}\)
(It has the same direction and length, but the opposite sense.)
Remark:
We find a relation already known for real numbers:
\(\overrightarrow{AB} + \left(-\overrightarrow{AB}\right) = \overrightarrow{AB} + \overrightarrow{BA} = \overrightarrow{AA} = \overrightarrow{0}\)
If we add a vector and its opposite, we get the zero vector.
Definition 4:
The subtraction of \(\overrightarrow{v}\) from \(\overrightarrow{u}\) is the addition of \(\overrightarrow{u}\) and the opposite of \(\overrightarrow{v}\):
\(\overrightarrow{u} - \overrightarrow{v} = \overrightarrow{u} + \left(-\overrightarrow{v}\right)\)
CÁLCULO VECTORIAL
Definición 1 :
El vector \(\overrightarrow{AB}\) está definido por:
- su dirección: la recta \((AB)\).
- su sentido: de \(A\) hacia \(B\).
- su longitud (o módulo): la distancia \(AB\).
Propiedad 1 :
Sean \(A\), \(B\), \(C\) tres puntos cualesquiera,
\(\overrightarrow{AB} + \overrightarrow{BC} = \overrightarrow{AC}\)
\(\overrightarrow{AB} + \overrightarrow{CD} = \overrightarrow{AB} + \overrightarrow{BB'} = \overrightarrow{AB'}\)
\(\overrightarrow{AB} + \left(-\overrightarrow{AB}\right) = \overrightarrow{AB} + \overrightarrow{BA} = \overrightarrow{AA} = \overrightarrow{0}\)
\(\overrightarrow{u} - \overrightarrow{v} = \overrightarrow{u} + \left(-\overrightarrow{v}\right)\)
